Join other KC aging experts, advocates and innovators for our monthly Innovation in Aging event. Each month Aging2.0 Kansas City presents speakers covering topics related to aging and innovation followed by in-depth discussion.

Our first speaker will be James Mayer, Innovation Portfolio Manager at The Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI).

CABHI’s mission is to accelerate the development, validation, commercialization, dissemination and adoption of innovative products, services and best practices to support brain health and aging. Their vision is a world in which people can age in the setting of their choice, maintaining their well-being and independence for as long as possible.

James will provide background on CABHI and details of CABHI’s Researcher-Clinician Partnership Program (RCP2).

RCP2 supports teams of clinicians and researchers collaborating to refine, test, validate and disseminate innovative solutions in real-world settings. Solutions must be at an advanced stage of development, with promising scalability. Organizations of successful applicants will receive up to $500,000 (CAD) to support their projects.

Our second speaker will be Ryan McNair, Technical Product Owner at SMRxT.

Ryan will discuss the entrepreneurial nature of small startups and present an overview of SMRxT’s medication adherence system, Nomi, that:

  • Accurately captures data to reveal how patients take medication.
  • Translates data into actionable information for patient interventions and engagement.
  • Empowers and improves patient behavior without the patient lifting a finger.
  • Impacts the patient’s behavior towards better health, but it also helps hospitals and health plans avoid preventable costs and boost productivity.

Aging2.0 Kansas City's Innovation in Aging meetings are held at the GlynnDevins office at 8880 Ward Parkway (just south of the Ward Parkway Center). There is a parking garage with plenty of free parking. The meeting room is located on the first floor.

The room will be available until 11:00 am to allow for networking and continued discussion.
