Oomph! Wellness presented at the 2015 Global Startup Search. Since the event, they've gone from "strength to strength". On Jan 24, CEO Ben Allen tells us about the lessons he learned in building a successful start-up focused on improving the quality of life for older people.

At 26 founder Ben Allen returned to the UK after working in Spain and Australia as a senior lecturer at the European and Australian Institutes of Fitness, specialising in exercise for older adults. He works closely with care homes and residents to create a unique approach to exercise that lifts the mood of not just the residents but the whole care home.

Oomph! is an award-winning social enterprise dedicated to transforming the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of older and vulnerable adults.

They work with care organisations to deliver cost effective, sustainable solutions to give people the best possible quality of life, proving their impact every step of the way. These include their Exercise Leadership Programme, Activities Leadership Programme and brand new Out & About service for keeping those in care connected to the passions and places that matter in their local communities.

Oomph!'s goal is to make millions of older people all over the world happier and healthier.

Oomph! are backed by and work with many of the biggest names in the care and social enterprise sectors including Care England, NCF, CSP Network, UnLtd, Nesta, and the Big Lottery Fund.
