Join us for an evening of great insight and discussion starting with a talk from leading Ageism activist Ashton Applewhite (A) and ending with an all star panel focused on how we can see more age-tech "Zebras" (Z) also known as businesses following a more sustainable, collaborative and purpose-led approach - the socially orientated version of a Unicorn!
AGING2.0 London in partnership with TechHub London are proud to be hosting this one-off event at Google for Startups London Campus featuring Ashton Applewhite, acclaimed activist and journalist, and an expert on ageing and ageism. She has spoken publicly on the subject worldwide; her TED Talk has been viewed 1.4m times, and she spoke at the UN in New York in 2016. She also writes the blog Yo, Is This Ageist? and has written for, amongst others, Harper’s, The Guardian, and the New York Times.
Following the keynote talk from Ashton, we will deep dive in the world of age-tech and hear from a selected panel of start ups, investors and government specialists on the opportunities, challenges and realities of tech scene in the UK.

Service designer, business developer and social investment specialist with over 30 years experience of working in and around public services. Set up the Government Outcomes Lab at the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University and led work supporting and educating commissioners around outcome based commissioning and social impact bonds. Now working with the GO Lab as an advisor and developing a strategy for BSC into investing into tackling the problems of ageing.
Dr Lynne Corner is Director of Engagement, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Newcastle University. She leads for Voice North - a large organisation established to harness the insights and experience of the public for research and innovation. She also leads for Patient Involvement for the NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre and is a member of INVOLVE.
She is a social geronotologist with over 20 years research experience. She has a particular interest in involving the public in research on ageing, health and demographic change and how research can be translated for societal and economic impact and benefit. She also specialises in dementia research and in technologies for an ageing population and is interested in assessment of well-being and service evaluation. She is a member of the SiDE (Social Inclusion through the Digital economy) team - a major EPSRC funded project based at Newcastle University - and also the Livewell team. Dr Corner also directs the NE Dementia Innovation Hub and chairs the NE Dementia Alliance - a stakeholder group established by the Department of Health to support the effective implementation of the National Dementia Strategy in the North East.
Kraydel is a platform that helps people be more independent and remain in their own homes for longer, providing peace of mind for relatives. Our platform socially connects people to their family, friends, carers and local community. Kraydel supports people return home from hospital earlier, delivering the professional overview needed for recovery.
Tina Woods is Founder & CEO of Collider Health, a health innovation catalyst working with organisations in both private and public sectors. Tina is also CEO and Co-founder of Longevity International, that runs the All Party Parliamentary Group for Longevity.
