COVID-19 has fundamentally changed the health and care landscape.  Forever.  Overnight.  Years of resistance to remote care solutions has not only been surmounted in a matter of weeks, but we are seeing companies with the right product and the right message, delivering amazing results at the right time.

These days, we've all found ourselves cooped up in the nest, attempting to keep healthy and safe. But how have we - and our older, more vulnerable counterparts - kept busy and well? Join us on the 22nd of April as we welcome Amer Fasihi, CEO & co-founder at Kraydel (social connectivity IoT platform) & Peter Dowds, CEO of Elder HQ (live-in care matchmaking platform) as we explore their in-home solutions to these questions.

Introducing Amer with Kraydel

Amer has worked in life sciences for over 20 years at GlaxoSmithKline, IQVia (formerly IMS Health), and IBM after which he founded Caros Connect (which merged with Kraydel). He studied Physics, and Biotechnology at Imperial College, has a PhD from Cranfield University in remote sensing, and is a Fellow at the Centre for Digital Innovation, Cambridge University. Founded in 2016, Kraydel aims to address social isolation and support independence for Users. Their system is unique in that it combines social connectivity through easy TV-video calling with remote monitoring, through a broad IoT platform for health and environmental sensors and devices, that together support User independence and well-being. Kraydel is headquartered in Belfast, with offices in London.

& Peter with Elder HQ

Peter Dowds is the CEO and co-founder of tech-enabled care provider, Elder, which he founded in 2015. Prior to this, he was behind the successful home maintenance platform, Mopp, before selling the company to market leader, Handy, in a multi-million-pound acquisition. A deal which put Peter heading up international business, working between New York and London. Since its inception, Elder has helped provide over 375,000 days of care in nearly every postcode in the country, providing a scalable and sustainable alternative to the traditional residential model. Under his leadership, the company has raised over £16.5 million, grown to nearly 100 staff and been named one of the fastest-growing companies in both the UK and Europe.
