featuring keynote speakers Matthias Hollwich and Rie Nørregard
At this Aging2.0 New York Chapter meeting, speakers Matthias Hollwich andRie Nørregard will be sharing their unique understandings of how progressive design can aid and shape life for the aging population. Matthias Hollwich will kick-off the panel with an exploration of the relationship between architecture and the aging population. We will then hear from Rie Nørregard about her experience in shifting perceptions around practical design, specifically for the aging population. In the style of a panel discussion we invite everyone to come, listen and join in on this interesting topic for forward-thinkers. The event will be moderated by Crispin Baynes.

SPEAKERS:

Matthias Hollwich, SBA, is a registered European Architect who has established himself at the forefront of a new generation of ground and rule breaking international architects. Before co-founding
HWKN and
Architizer, Matthias worked with Rem Koolhaas at
OMA in Rotterdam,
Eisenman Architects and
Diller+Scofidio.
Matthias’ view that the key to successful architecture lies in finding new and exciting ways to create dialogue and relationships between people and buildings is regularly communicated at events such as TED, PICNIC and as visiting Professor with the University of Pennsylvania where he has been the creator of an international conference on aging and architecture called New Aging. His work is regularly celebrated in leading media outlets such as the New York Times, Wallpaper* and the Wall Street Journal and his book titled 'New Aging - Live smarter now to live better forever' will be published in late 2015 through Penguin Books.
Rie Nørregaard, Creative Director,
Quirky - a community powered invention company. Previously Rie launched
Omhu, a boutique designer and manufacturer of award-winning mobility products. Earlier in her career Rie served as Creative Director at frog, Organic, Arnell Group and smart design in New York.
