Altogether close to 50 million older adults, of which 34 million in Brazil. In this event, each ambassador will expose the COVID 19 situation in her/his respective country, its evolution, how the country dealt with the pandemia, what is the situation now, and what is expected for the (near) future - all with respect to the 60+ population. The speakers will also explore ways that technology has been used to mitigate the effects the quarantine, and what can and should be done to improve the lives of the older adults in the region, especially the poorer.

The goal is to share an objective picture of the situation of the various groups of older adults in South America, which each ambassador will further explore it new future events. We are very happy to invite the Aging Community to be part of this movement designed to call the attention to the needs of the older adults under such uncertain times: who knows how long this quarantine will last for this population? Although we do not have solutions, we must raise our voices, and think collectively: better answers will be result.
