GENERAL SESSION | The Longevity Economy

World-renowned aging expert and Founder/Director of the MIT AgeLab, Dr. Joseph Coughlin, will kick off the Aging2.0 OPTIMIZE Conference with a keynote presentation about the Longevity Economy.

Dr. Coughlin will frame the business of aging and outline the needs and complexities of the enormous (and growing) older consumer market. He’ll explore how companies, non-profits and governments are capitalizing on the unprecedented confluence of demographic, technological and policy trends that are creating massive needs and opportunities across the lifespan.

‘As the demographics of global aging transform and accelerate, it is now critical to build a new understanding of the shifting physiological, cognitive, social, family, and psychological realities of the longevity economy.’ Having literally *written the book* on the Longevity Economy, there is no one better to speak on this unprecedented opportunity.

3:45pm

4:45pm

GENERAL SESSION | Big Brands & Big Opportunities

The Longevity Economy refers to the $7.1 trillion in annual economic activity driven by the needs of Americans aged 50 and over. The large and growing segment of older consumers around the world is poised for transformative impact economically and socially.

Across all product categories, Baby Boomers spend more across than any other Generation, yet historically less than 10% of marketing spend has been focused on older adults. That is all changing as major brands and startups alike seek to capitalize on this sizeable market opportunity.

Large consumer product and consumer tech companies have had relationships with these consumers during earlier stages of life. Hear how these big brands are looking to evolve and expand their relationships with these consumers as they become caregivers, retirees, grandparents and older adults themselves.

GENERAL SESSION | The Next Frontier of Value-Based Care: Pre/Post Acute
Panel Discussion & Startup Spotlights

Older adults represent the largest and fastest growing consumer of healthcare services around the world. In the US, the healthcare system is being redesigned to better align incentives, decrease costs and improve health outcomes. The changing incentive structures are creating new priorities and payment mechanisms within the healthcare system − in particular a focus on post-acute care, care management and providing quality care in the least expensive setting possible. New Medicare codes and bundled payments are also creating new opportunities (and funding streams!) around chronic care management, care transitions, advanced care planning, telemedicine, non-medical home care and more.

These strong regulatory tailwinds not only create new demand for outcomes data and tech-enabled care models, but also creates new potential payors who have an increasingly vested interest in delivering high quality, cost-effective care. Hear from Medicare Advantage plans and other risk takers about how they are partnering with post-acute providers and leveraging technology to capitalize on these trends and opportunities.

GENERAL SESSION | The Future of Senior Care
Panel Discussion & Startup Spotlights

These leaders are forging novel partnerships with payers and health systems and digitizing care operations to redefine and elevate the role of senior care and post-acute in the future.
