Laurie Miller

About Me

Laurie Miller graduated from The University of Texas McCombs School of Business in 1985 with a BBA in Marketing. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Aging Studies through Eastern Illinois University. After working for over 20 years as Vice President in her family’s giftware business, in 2006 she founded Apple Care and Companion, a Dallas non-medical home care agency. She has held every position in the company including President, Marketing Director, Payroll Manager, HR Director, Scheduling Manager and Caregiver. She has been the Administrator of the agency since 2008. Apple Care and Companion is the first Texas partner of the Honor Care Network. Laurie has been an active member of the Dallas Area Gerontological Society, more commonly known as DAGS since 2006, has been a Board member since 2008 and served two terms as President from 2013-2016. She cofounded and organized the Dallas Compassion Fatigue Symposium from 2012-2014. In 2013, Laurie cofounded the iACT Summit (Innovation in Aging, Caregiving and Technology). In 2018, Laurie started Conversation Ready NTX, a grassroots initiative to help people talk about and share their wishes for end-of-life care.
